Forest Park in the Heights – then and now

Located north of Kavanaugh in the Heights, and bounded by University to the West, Taylor to the east and V street to the north, Forest Park was an amazing place. It had a 1500 seat theater among many other fun attractions. Built by the local streetcar company to attract business, the land was leased for 30 years from local developers who, when the lease had expired, razed the park to build more houses.

I’m told that the location of these two pictures is the same, but if you have better info, please share it by commenting.

[Thanks for P. L. Brown and Google maps for the pictures]
